The website Balkan Gen stands for Balkan Gender Equality Network, and is a product of a project titled: Naming, blaming and framing the economic violence against women in intimate relationships. This project was initiated by B.a.b.e. (Croatia) and its goal was to assist CSO’s in improving women’s rights, in order to combat violence against women and promote equal treatment. Organizations included as partners in this project are: Bulgarian Research Foundation (Bulgaria), Rights for All (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Women’s Safe House (Montenegro) and European Movement in Serbia (Serbia).
This regional project lasted for sixteen months, included four civil society organizations and it provided an in-debth analysis of types of economic violence against women in intimate relationships.
This project has been funded with support from the European Commission, and co-funded by the Croatian Office for Cooperation with NGO’s and National Foundation for Civil Society Development.
